Gastric discomfort and gas can be incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassing and it only gets worse as we age. Lots of things change as we have been on this planet for longer, accumulating toxins and inflammation. For many people, the search for a diagnosis and treatment can be a long and frustrating journey.
My own experience with these symptoms has taught me that the power of these lab tests and holistic therapies can lead to significant relief and healing.
My Symptoms
My journey began with persistent gas and bloating after meals and pain around my navel throughout the night. It was difficult to concentrate at work and caused me to feel self-conscious in social situations.
After consulting with my doctor to rule out other potential complications, I decided to take my health into my own hands and ordered a series of lab tests to determine the cause of my symptoms.
The tests revealed that I had an imbalance in my gut microbiome, or dysbiosis, which was causing my discomfort. The gut microbiome is a complex community of microorganisms that plays a critical role in our overall health, including digestion, immune function, and mood regulation. An imbalance in the microbiome can lead to a range of symptoms, including gas, bloating, and other digestive issues.
How I Achieved Gut Health Through Rebalanced Mircrobiome
To restore balance to my microbiome, I began incorporating natural remedies into my daily routine.
This included eating a diet rich in prebiotic and probiotic foods, such as
yogurt
kefir
sauerkraut
I also began taking a high-quality probiotic supplement to support the growth of the good bacteria in my gut.
Parasites?? Gross!
I also found that I was infested with parasites I had picked up from my travels, undercooked meat, pets or from unwashed produce.
It is surprisingly easy to get parasites and when your microbiome is out of balance.
It is easier for parasites to take hold, so the first step for me was to improve my gut health through rebalancing my mircrobiome , then to move to more disgusting options.
Tapeworm infections, or taeniasis, can present with a range of symptoms.
However, it is possible to have a tapeworm infection without any symptoms. It is possible for a tapeworm to live inside a human body for over 20 years. Here are some of the common symptoms that may indicate a tapeworm infection:
1. Abdominal pain or discomfort
2. Nausea and vomiting
3. Diarrhea or constipation
4. Loss of appetite
5. Unexplained weight loss
6. Fatigue or weakness
7. Increased hunger or cravings for sugary or starchy foods
8. Anal itching or irritation
9. Visible segments of the tapeworm in the stool or around the anus
10. Worms or eggs in the stool
11. Malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies (in rare cases)
Intestinal flukes are parasitic flatworms that can infect the small intestine and cause a range of symptoms. Here are some of the common symptoms that may indicate an intestinal fluke infection:
1. Abdominal pain or discomfort
2. Diarrhea or constipation
3. Nausea and vomiting
4. Loss of appetite
5. Unexplained weight loss
6. Fatigue or weakness
7. Bloating or gas
8. Fever
9. Allergic reactions, such as skin rashes or itching
10. Anemia (in rare cases)
11. Worms or eggs in the stool
12. Malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies (in rare cases)
It is important to note that these symptoms may also indicate other health conditions, and a proper diagnosis requires a medical evaluation and laboratory testing. If you suspect that you may have a tapeworm infection, it is important to get tested to be sure. Treatment typically involves antiparasitic medications, and in some cases, surgery may be necessary to remove flukes.
This test is useful in self-diagnosis to rule out this potential issue. Most healthcare practitioners don't run/don't know about these tests.
Here is What I Did
I used organic ingredients from reputable sources to do a parasite cleanse which got me back on the road to health. Not all supplements are created equally and I know it is important to use quality ones to avoid making the situation even worse.
My 25 years of industry experience has honed my ability to make effective product choices. Read more about my recommendations here.
In addition to dietary changes, I made lifestyle adjustments to reduce stress and promote relaxation, which can also impact the microbiome.
This included regular exercise, meditation, and getting enough sleep. I also had a colonic to flush out what was being removed.
Over time, I began to experience significant relief from my symptoms.
My digestion improved, and I felt more energetic and focused throughout the day.
The power of lab tests and natural therapies allowed me to take control of my health and find a natural solution to my gastric discomfort, gas and a host of other seemingly unrelated symptoms.
